Calendula & Chamomile

The properties of Calendula and Chamomile have long had the reputation for wound healing. The herbs antifungal and antimicrobial properties help prevent infection and heal injuries to body tissues. Calendula is also known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant components. This is why we put organic handcrafted Calendula oil in almost everything we make! Comfrey, Plantain Leaf, Yarrow, Lavender, Calendula, Chamomile, Rosemary & Uva Ursi

Each of these herbs has one important thing in common- They all have pain reducing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. This is why we've chosen this abundant blend to make our organic Herbal Bath. Just as you'd make a tea for sickness or stress, soak these herbs in the provided muslin tea bags for perineal relief of pain, injury and swelling. Just steep for 20 minutes in hot water, then pour in a sitz bath or in your tub for a shallow bath. You can also use the tea in a peri-bottle for relief during urination or for padsicles and even keep the used tea bags in the refrigerator as cool packs for 'down there.'

Frankincense, Lavender, Cedarwood, Geranium & Clary Sage Oils

Essential oils are powerful mixtures from aromatic plants. Their extracts have been used for thousands of years to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Their scents purify the air and can trigger reactions in your body and brain that may help keep you calmer and more comfortable during labor. When used as a part of aromatherapy they may help soothe pain and discomfort and even help reduce the time you spend laboring.

Frankincense-
"The King of Essential Oils," has so many benefits. For our purposes, it is used for it's balancing, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic, and astringent benefits. Find Frankincense in our Family Sleep Oil, Energizing Aromatherapy, Blemish Stick, Signature Scent Deodorant, Belly Butter, & Restorative Oil

Lavender- "The Jack of all Trades," is the most well known herb for healing. Its long list of benefits include sleep improvement, pain and inflammation reduction, antiseptic properties, and its ability to lift anxiety and depression. Find Lavender in almost everything we make including our Diaper Balm, Mommy's Magic Boo-Boo Balm, Energizing Aromatherapy, Belly Butter, Signature Deodorant, Restorative Salve, Restorative Oil & Family Sleep Oil.

Cedarwood-
This oil has an array of benefits. It's been used medicinally, cosmetically, and and as aromatherapy for generations but in our case, we use it to help our little ones sleep. Its aromatic properties help to relax the body, decrease hyperactivity, reduce harmful stress, ease tension, clear the mind, and encourage the onset of quality sleep. Find it in our Family Sleep Oil.

Geranium-
With its sweet, uplifting floral scent that promotes a sense of relaxation and enhances the feeling of well-being, it's no wonder we've included it in our Energizing Aromatherapy, Belly Butter, Restorative Oil & Signature Deodorant. Geranium is reputed to reduce physical and mental stress including anxiety, sadness, fatigue and tension. In addition it may enhance concentration, improve cognitive function and balance our emotions and hormones. Yep- that's about every characteristic of labor folks! Use this spray as a companion during pregnancy, labor, postpartum and beyond.

Clary Sage-
Is a natural uterotonic, meaning it can cause contractions of the uterus. This is why it's used in our Energizing Aromatherapy, Signature Deodorant, & Belly Butter. Some women use clary sage oil to naturally induce labour or to improve the effectiveness of their contractions. It also promotes relaxation during labor as it calms the nervous system. If you are thinking about using clary sage to try to induce labor it is important to be cautious and it is highly recommended to work in collaboration with your midwife or obstetrician if you are thinking of this option.
